THE IMPACT OF DIGITALIZATION ON ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOR IN THE TURKISH CONTEXT: A CONCEPTUAL ANALYSIS

The study conceptually examines the effects of digitalization on organizational behavior in the Türkiye context. It emphasizes that digital transformation is not merely limited to the renewal of technical infrastructure or the automation of business processes, but is a multidimensional transformation process that directly impacts employee behavior, motivation, leadership approaches, organizational culture, and psychological well-being. A review of the literature shows that digitalization provides organizations with significant advantages such as flexibility, speed, efficiency, and easy access to information. However, it can also lead to negative consequences such as the pressure to be constantly available, stress, burnout, role ambiguity, and social isolation. Consequently, the effects of digitalization on organizational behavior are not one-sided but rather complex in nature, encompassing both positive and negative dimensions. In the Türkiye context, however, it is evident that the effects of digital transformation vary depending on the level of digital maturity, leadership approaches, organizational culture, and employees’ digital competencies. In particular, there are significant differences in adaptability between large enterprises and Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs). Consequently, the study demonstrates that successfully managing digital transformation requires not only investments in technology but also the strengthening of supportive organizational policies.
