IMPORTANT MESSAGES FROM ARCHAEOLOGISTS ABOUT ZONGULDAK REGION PUBLISHED IN RECENT YEARS

Abstract

This International Congress is held in Zonguldak in the Turkish Republic. A year ago I was in Zonguldak participating in the previous International Congress. My topic was about Queen Nefertiti. She was not born in the kingdom called Kimet situated in the lawlands of the famous river the Nil, as the public at large think. Instead, she was born in the kingdom called Mitanni that was situated rather near area where modern city Zonguldak is. Now I shall overview the publication of Tim Clyden and the recent publication made by Professor Seth Richardson about the culture of the population that lived near Zonguldak some 3850 years ago. The aim of my presentation is to urge scholars to use Proper Names of geographical regions, kingdoms, rivers and personal names exactly as they are written in ancient documents that the researchers write about. This will help readers to ubderstand the texts of the publications better in the difficult sphere such as the Ancient History of the Black Sea Coastline Contries – being of prominent importance at this International Congress in Zonguldak.
