Abstract

At the request of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the translation of the Quran to Turkish by the Presidency of Religious Affairs was given to Mehmet Akif Ersoy, who has a strong literary identity. The year that this important duty was given to the Turkish National Anthem poet was 1925. Mehmet Akif Ersoy knows Arabic and Persian very well. Knowing Arabic and Persian other than their native language was considered a requirement for those who were educated in the Ottoman Empire, according to their education level. It was easy to read and write Arabic and Persian for those who raised their scientific degrees to the upper ranks. These people can easily understand modern and classical texts of Arabic and Persian languages and can also make translations from these texts. These personalities, those who had more knowledge of Arabic and Persian, were also at an advanced level enough to produce works from these languages.
