Abstract

Leadership is an important issue within the management understanding of societies and organizations. Leadership styles shaped within these management approaches depend on the expectations of the groups from those at the management level and the characteristics of those in the management. Therefore, what will be the appropriate leadership style emerges as a combination of both the context and the personal characteristics of the leader. In this sense, the unique capabilities of the leader are important as well as the organizational environment is effective. Among these, the leader's communication ability, extroversion, rhetoric, external appearance, credibility and charisma, a phenomenon that can be defined as a whole, can be cited as examples.The charisma of the leader is seen as an important management skill in order to influence his followers and reach the targeted result with them. A charismatic leader is a leader who impresses those around him with his extraordinary and remarkable qualities and can direct the masses towards their goals. Such a leader will even be able to establish a state thanks to the faith and trust of the followers in him. As a matter of fact, the best example of this in our history is Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Atatürk's leadership and charisma, which is accepted by his people, lie behind his success in such a thing. In this sense, the aim of the study is to associate the leadership behaviors of Atatürk with the concept of charisma and charismatic leadership, which has become an important feature of the concept of leadership. In this direction, first of all, the relationship between charisma and leadership has been revealed. Then, the effect of this phenomenon on the leadership understanding in the organizational environment is discussed in the context of charismatic leadership. After this conceptualization of charismatic leadership, the forms of charisma emergence and leading behaviors in charismatic leadership were examined. In the last part, how charisma and charismatic leader behaviors have taken place in Atatürk's management understanding has been examined
