Semiotics explains the method of analysing linguistic and visual narratives and reveals its own method of studying the communication cycle between sender and receiver. The complex and deep structure of the story texts that reach the reader with the narrative form of linguistic signs; It can be examined objectively within a certain method, with semiotic analysis. The story of "Semerci" in Mehmet Akif Ersoy's "Asım" poem that forms a part of his work named "Safahat" is one of the rare examples of the verse story genre, which is woven with intense images and metaphors. Ersoy's "Semerci" story; the environment in which the author was born and raised, family, close circle, friends, life story, social and political conditions of the time etc. As can be examined with author centered, superficial and classical methods; centering the narrative, revealing the connections between signs (words and sentences) in the text; that conveys the deep structure of the text with the relationships between referent, signifier and signified; Images and metaphors and the flow of the text can also be subjected to semiotic examination, which takes into account the use of sounds with emphasis and intonations, sometimes even punctuation marks. In semiotic analysis, the text is divided into sections and a "semantic map" is presented and the relationships between the deep structure of the text and its surface structure are tried to be reached with the meaning relations between these sections. Roland Barthes, Algirdas Julien Greimas, Vladimir Propp and other semiologists have used semiotic approaches and methods to analyse narrative texts and tried to reach a complex and deep structure by revealing the discourse and semantic maps of the texts. The aim of this study is; It is an approach to the story of "Semerci" in Mehmet Akif Ersoy's poem "Asım", which forms a part of "Safahat", in the context of the semiotic analysis method. In this context, "Semerci" story of Akif was divided into sections and "meaning maps" were created and thus, the latent meanings relationships in the deep structure were tried to be reached.
