Abstract

With the development of technology, mobile phones, we feel its influence in every aspect of ourlives, are also frequently used in educational environments. This study was conducted to investigate the effects of this situation(using mobile phones during lessons) on the motivation of the teacher and the teaching of the lesson. In our study, it was argued that the teachers' use of mobile phones during lessons would have negative effects on education. In this context, a literature review has been made and it has been concluded that the technology has benefits as well as harms when used in an inappropriate environment. In our study, it has been emphasized that classroom control and motivation are not only student-dimensional but also teacher-dimensional and it is emphasized that teachers' entering the class with their mobile phones can lead to behaviors that disrupt classroom motivation. Our study was also reified by asking various questions to the teachers with the quantitative research methods.
