Abstract

Since the use of technology and the Internet is an important part of life, students and teachers should be made aware of managing risks and developing correct strategies. The aim of this study; According to the opinions of teachers and students, it is to reveal the problems and solutions related to the school's e-safety school policy. In this context, it is aimed to examine the effects of Conscious Internet Use Attitudes and Behaviors of Health Vocational High School teachers and students on the creation of an e-safety School Policy and to develop the necessary support program.

Our study was applied in Mersin Davultepe Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in the summer term of 2022-2023 academic year. The data of the study were obtained by “Mersin Davultepe Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School Internet e-Security Student Questionnaire and Mersin Davultepe Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School Internet e-Security Teacher Questionnaire. 66 students and 16 teachers participated in the study.

Using a 3-point Likert scale, a questionnaire form consisting of 21 questions for students and 9 questions for teachers was applied, and descriptive statistical analysis methods were used in the evaluation.

It was determined that 66-7% of the teachers allocate 1-4 hours of their daily time for the internet, while the students allocate 4-7 hours. Despite teachers (95.5%) who know that they should keep personal data secure and limited, the rate of students is low (66.4%). Do you reply to messages from people you don't know? The majority of the questions were answered no (56.9%), sometimes (39.8%) and yes (12.3%). 66.2% of them have information about the notification web. According to the law on the protection of personal data, the rate of those who know their rights is 64.6%.

In conclusion; In this study, it was concluded that the school should evaluate its own online security and strengthen its improvement. It was concluded that the school's e-safety school policies should be reviewed according to national and international standards, secure access to online technology, and revised if necessary.
