Abstract

In this study, we will try to express the intention of Russia with the policy of Panslavism and the opposing attitude of the Ottoman State during this process, without worrying about trying to examine the relations between the Ottoman Empire and Russia from the beginning. With reference to the results of the 1828-29 war between the Ottoman Empire and Russia in the 19th century, we will try to evaluate the reflection of the war, which is the main concern in this study, to the town of Antakya. Of course, starting from the special of Antakya, it will be possible to reach inferences that can be reached to the reflections of the war in Anatolia and the Ottoman country. In our study, we benefited from the documents reflected in the Antakya Shari'iyye registers as well as the copyrighted works on this subject.
