Comparative literature is the method that aims to bring literature to other fields of expression and knowledge or to bring literary texts closer to each other with events that are far or close to each other in time and space by examining the interaction, analogy and kinship relations. The traces of intercultural interaction in literary texts are investigated, and the history of literature and cultural change in society is shed light with this method. The comparison can be made on two different cultures or national literatures as well as in terms of two images, genres, subject, poet, author, type, work, poet / writer or their styles within the boundaries of the literature of a nation. Different products, writers, in the same period or literary works written at different times can be compared. Mehmet Akif Ersoy (1873-1936) witnessed the last period of the Ottoman Empire and the first years of the Republic. He has been in favor of an understanding that denies dreamy truths, and deals with social problems in his works in poetry. “Bayram”, “Hasta” and “Küfe” also viewed poverty through the eyes of children, and experienced the pain of not being able to do anything other than show them mercy. Sabahattin Ali (1907-1948) saw almost the same years as Akif and witnessed the misery caused by the events of this period. He deals with the effects of poverty on children in his stories of “Apartman”, “Arabalar Beş Kuruşa”, “Ayran”, “Cigara”, “Isıtmak İçin” while he deals with tragedies in society like Akif in many of his stories. The theme of child and poverty, similarities and differences in the works of their will be identified and compared after evaluating world views, literary circles, and understanding of art of two authors in this study.
