Abstract

Culture is one of the most important elements of social life. This element includes individual, social, psychological and even political aspects. Culture is the social characteristics of the society formed in certain periods of social development, the intellectual and practical reaction codes that distinguish a group of individuals from others, the attitude, behavior, belief and values of a society. Again, culture is a complex set of knowledge and behavior that includes the knowledge, morality, tradition, art, thought and similar habits acquired by the individual as a social member. Socially, it is the combination of material and spiritual elements that make a people a people. Culture appears as a symbol and system of meaning in social relations. It is possible to talk about culture for societies and individuals as well as culture and acculturation for organizations. Especially after the 1960's, the concept of culture has been one of the most discussed topics in the administrative field. In this context, the concept of organizational culture has settled in the relevant literature in the process. The elements that make up the organizational culture are stories, ceremonies, heroes, symbols, lyrics, anthems and songs. In this study, the concept of anthem and the Turkish National Anthem are discussed as a part of the organizational culture. In addition to being a literary text in terms of the words of the National Anthem, it has turned into a highly influential social element that represents the country with the music added afterwards. Anthems in general aim to motivate the society and the relevant audience, create a sense of belonging, and lead the audience to a goal emotionally.
